How to get from Budapest airport to town?

Budapest Ferihegy Airport is located about 25 kilometers from downtown.But  as in any civilized city  there are many ways to reach the capital quickly and conveniently. There are trains, mini-buses and taxis. The airport has three terminals: 1, 2A and 2B. Terminal 1 is connected to the other two terminals through a bus line.

Buses and subway

Bus number 200E leave the airport every 20 minutes and is a direct connection between the airport terminals and subway station Kőbánya-Kispest,  the journey time is about 15 min. From the subway, M3 will go straight into the center and is also the fastest and cheapest way to connect the city with the airport,the  journey time is 20 min. 200E bus picks passengers from both Terminal 1 , 2A and 2B and the first bus is early in the  morning until and the last is after midnight.Bus and metro tickets(can  use the same type of ticket for both modes of transport but you need 2 tickets to get downtown) can be purchased from the offices of newspapers the airport. Bus number 93 connects terminal 1 with the subway station mentioned above.

Trains

A rail line connects Terminal 1 with Budapest Nyugati station (Western Railway Station), located in the city. The journey takes half an hour. Train station has two platforms and now terminal is made via a walkway. Train tickets can be purchased from Terminal 1 or ticket machines located on the platform. To get to Terminal 2A or 2B to Terminal 1, you need to take bus 200E.

Minibuses

There is a service of minibuses, leading tourists in different parts of town. Those who go in the same place can be grouped and use the same shuttle. But that means many stops along the way. Minibuses with air conditioning and space for 8-10 passengers. All terminals have service minibuses.

Taxi

The airport has an area with  taxis. Prices are fixed according to the city where you have to go. There are also several companies that rent-a-car and have offices inside the airport.

Wizz Air flights

Wizz Air operates flights to and from Terminal 1 (Ferihegy 1).
